We (Chergo, Jörg and me as usual) headed for the mountains. The strips between Yapsiei Airport (AYYP) and Nipsan Airport (WAWT) were short and offered plenty of challenge along the way.
Chergo, Jörg and me had tremendous fun flying over the dense djungle. While following the rivers of New Guinea many small airstrips had to be found along the way.
Mario, Chergo and I started the New Guniea bushtrip and flew the first two legs. With a lot of short grass airfields around the NXCub could really show off its capabilities.
Mario and I enjoyed flying around the Alps even tough the weather was marginal. The NXCub is a great little plane for sightseeing and we had lots of fun.
Recently I have started a new hobby – RC Car Drifting. I have bought and built 2 cars and am into my third. Find more information on the build progress on its dedicated page. It is a truly fun little hobby and it does not require much space, a thing that always has put me off bigger RC cars.
It is such a beautiful place to fly and even more so after the World Update for the USA. We started in Redding and followed the road up north. A quick stop right next to Mt Shasta at Dunsmuir Airport and then around the mountain down to Klamath Falls. If you fancy hot springs you could continue to Crater Lake, but that is for the next time.
Another one of my old models finished. This time my runner-up title car from 2007/2008, the BMW M3 GTR from the VR M3 Cup. The original model is an AutoArt 1:18 “Plain Body”.
I was not quite satisfied with the final look and went over the model again. I painted all the window frames and the rubber seals for the doors and trunk lid.
It has been a long wait, but finally I finished another model. As you know I am a virtual racing driver and I plan to have all the more successful cars as a model.
This one is my Ferrari 275 GTB from the Classic Endurance from 2007. I raced this one to a 3rd place finish in the GTC65 class which gave my team “Alienhunters” the 2nd place overall.
The kit is a mixture from Revell and Italeri with many parts removed for racing. The exhausts were 3D printed and most decals are designed by myself.
It’s DONE! After many, many hours, with 4 different planes in 3 different simulators the boat is finally home again. BIG THX to Andreas who joined me on this one. Time went by in a flash!
