Called the “Swiss Army Knife” this truly is a very versatile aircraft. It can takeoff and land pretty much anywhere (even dirt), has the power and speed of a small jet and is capable of long range flights.
Milano – Marseille – St. Tropez
Zuerich – Geneva
We took off from a rather busy Zürich airport in foggy weather and turned south towards lake Zuerich and lake Zug. The weather cleared up quite a bit over Luzern and we could see their stadium, Swissporarena.
Next up was the airport Buochs, the home of Pilatus Flugzeugwerke AG, here my beloved PC-12 gets built. The name Pilatus stems from the mountain towering over the bay at 2.128m.
Sadly, my sim quit service at this point and I rejoined the party at Sion, missing the Eiger Northface and the Sphinx Observatory.
We flew down the Rhone valley until it met lake Geneva. We kept on the eastern side of the lake to pass over Chilon castle near Montreux. Final sightseeing point was the Cathedral in Lausanne, then we had to start preparing for the approach into Geneva.
