Pontiac51's Slot Race

24-06-01

Le Mans, we didn't race it 24 hours, we had enough challenge on our short races. The drivers agreed that it was possible to win on 3 lanes (green, red and blue) instead of the normal 2 (red and blue) so in the qualify the drivers chose among 3 lanes and 6 different cars. "Kleiner" once again posted the fastest lap, the field rahter sharp behind him, "Nathalie" 0.4 seconds behind got 7th place. The rest of the field came in following order:

The first half of this class "Beeli" and "Grilli" tied, "Nathalie" regained in the 2nd half but not enough to gain a position against the two others. "Beeli" again with a very constant run, he had less DNF's then "Grilli", but "Grilli" won if he drove through, so "Beeli" was short 8 pts in the end.

"Viking", "Sam", "Kleiner" and "Pontiac51" would settle pos. 1-4 in this A-final.

After the first half "Viking" and "Sam" lead the field with 24 pts, while "Kleiner" and "Pontiac51" stood behind with 14 pts. "Sam" then built up a gap the next two runs securing his today win. "Viking" was sharp behind him but 5 pts short. He then let pass "Pontiac51" in the last race to gain 2 pts over "Kleiner", who finished 4th. Be aware off that "Sam" scored no DNF, only one win ("Viking" scored 3), but 5 2nd places gave him top position on the podium. Consistency pays off.

Congrats to all drivers, thank you, ladies and gentleman, for an exiting race. The Pontiac51 Raceway will be back in july. Till then, go fast, turn left...
